Data protection declaration
The German Association of Rescue Dogs, hereinafter referred to as BRH, takes the task of protecting your personal data very seriously. We want you to know which data we store and how we use it. As an NPO, we are bound to comply with the provisions of the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and other legal requirements pertaining to data protection.
The following data protection declaration applies to telemedia services offered via the BRH website and accessible from the following sites:
These services shall hereinafter be collectively referred to as “The Website”.
All the personal data contained on The Website shall only be stored and processed to support you individually, send you information or facilitate submission of the same.
Whenever a user accesses The Website and every time a file is retrieved, user-related data is recorded, and this includes the following set of data for each retrieval:
- The site from which the file was requested (so-called referrer URL)
- The IP address, from which the file was requested
- The name of the file
- The date and time of the request (so-called “time stamp”)
- The quantity of data transmitted
- The access status (file transferred, file not found etc.)
- A description of the type of web browser or “browser” for short; e.g. Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome or Microsoft Internet Explorer, Apple Safari, Opera etc.)
This data will only be stored temporarily to facilitate the provision of our service.
This data will be logged in an access log set up by the web server (for example access.log, error.log, etc.)
The stored data will only be used for statistical purposes, with no transfer to any third parties, for commercial or any other reasons.
When you contact us by e-mail, we use your e-mail address and the related personal transmitted data solely to process and respond to your inquiry.
The member area is only accessible to BRH members who log in as required. For this purpose, the log-in data (user ID, password) and the downloaded content are only provided via a secure SSL connection.
Using SSL establishes an encrypted channel between the web server and your web browser. This encryption prevents unauthorised third parties from accessing and reading the exchanged information.
To make your visit to The Website as convenient as possible, we use so-called “session cookies”. Cookies are small text files that are stored in the visitor's local browser cache. Session cookies are named as such because they are automatically deleted from the hard disk after the end of each browser session.
Of course, you can also configure your browser to prevent any cookies from being stored on your hard disk or delete any cookies already present.
Use of social plugins
The Website uses social plugins from the Facebook network (Facebook Inc., 1601 South California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA), which are primarily intended to facilitate sharing content from The Website with your network contacts. Via the connection established, the network providers receive information that the corresponding pages of The Website were accessed from your IP address. If you are logged into the Facebook network, the network provider can also register your visit to The Website via your network account.
If you are a Facebook member and you do not wish Facebook to acquire data about you via The Website and link the same to your stored Facebook member data, you must log out of Facebook before visiting The Website.
Links to other websites
Although The Website also includes links to other websites, the present guidance on data protection applies only to our own website. When accessing external websites, please ensure you comply with their respective data protection provisions.
