Berlin. The Haitian ambassador in Germany Frantz Bataille expressed his appreciation of the engagement of the medical team of I.S.A.R. Germany and BRH Bundesverband Rettungshunde e.V. after the severe earthquake in his home country. "On behalf of the Republic, I thank the team from the bottom of my heart," Bataille said during a meeting with I.S.A.R. office manager Peter Janssen.

"The rapid response of the Emergency Medical Team of Bundesverband Rettungshunde and ISAR helped many people in their greatest need," said the Haitian ambassador. Many lives have been saved as a result, he said. Children, in particular, would have been in a critical situation.

Bataille also thanked the members of the emergency services. He had high regard for their understanding. He also wanted to make special mention of the commitment of employers who made it possible for employees to take time off work. "I am aware of how valuable human resources are these days. That's why it's a personal concern of mine to take this opportunity to express my high regard for the dedication of your employees."

The ambassador expressed hope that aid agencies would continue their commitment to Haiti and keep the infirmary at Les Cayemitis operating to continue to provide a place for sick people to go. In the future, there will be regular meetings between the ambassador and representatives of I.S.A.R. as well as BRH Bundesverband Rettungshunde to promote further humanitarian aid for Haiti in the medium term. The education and training of rescue workers was also suggested.
